Credentials
- Berne Fitzpatrick, Ph.D. has his doctoral degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in depth psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
- He is a licensed clinical psychologist PSY32551 in private practice in San Francisco (Glen Park) and Berkeley, where he works primarily with adult men and women, couples, and elders in person and via teletherapy.
- He is a Certified Group Therapist #60467 (AGPA) leading men's groups in person in both SF (Glen Park) on Monday evenings and Berkeley on Thursdays (has led groups since 2001).
- He has a certificate in Analytic Somatic Therapy (2 year program).
Training
- 2 year Clinical Internship at the SF Jung Institute
- 2+ years of infant observation groups.
- Group Therapy Training Program (GTTP) at TPI
- Internal Family Systems - completed Level 2 and is a Program Assistant in Level 1 trainings (currently training therapists who want to do psychedelic-assisted therapy in the IFS model).

His dissertation explored how men attach in groups. He has spent many years studying a multitude of therapy techniques, including relational psychoanalytic, attachment based therapy, and Internal Family Systems. He draws from all of them at different points in the therapeutic process as informed by the client’s needs. Berne self-identifies as a cisgender, he/him, “middle” class, heterosexual, able-bodied, white male. When not working Berne enjoys Zumba and Pilates, and exploring the outdoors with his wife and miniature labradoodle "Freyja"
