Biography
I work collaboratively with patients in individual therapy and while conducting neuropsychological, psychodiagnostic, and psychoeducational assessments of children, adolescents and adults in order to assist in diagnostic clarification as well as recognition of individuals’ strengths and weaknesses. I provide information regarding individuals' limitations, capabilities, cognitive functioning and diagnostic considerations. I assist students by providing interventions, education, and suggestions for educational accommodations, when appropriate. My interests and experience have contributed to my specializing in diagnosing and treating neuropsychological and educational disabilities (including ADHD/ADD) as well as working with individuals experiencing mood, adjustment and anxiety disorders. Another area of interest of mine is assessing and working with individuals with cognitive impairments with various etiologies. I assist people in the development of skills and the building of confidence in order to support them in reaching their highest academic, professional, and personal potential using empirically validated treatments.
I use evidenced-based treatments while working with individuals in therapy. I use cognitive behavioral techniques as well as acceptance and commitment therapy while helping patients develop skills in mindfulness, emotional awareness and acceptance, cognitive restructuring, emotional exposure, emotion regulation and in changing emotional-driven behaviors, gearing my work towards the needs of each individual. I will provide an interactive environment in a safe and supportive atmosphere. I additionally provide behavioral pain management and work with patients who are adjusting to various disabilities and functional limitations.
