Course Description
This course is intended to provide attendees with practical advice on some of the most common questions/concerns that psychologists raise when talking with a practice lawyer. The course addresses four major topics: paperwork/charting, client requests for letters, responses to licensing board inquiries, and maximizing the effectiveness of clinical consultations. The course will review relevant authorities and provide clinically-focused guidance on managing common concerns. The course is in lecture format, with opportunities for questions and discussions.
Goals and Objectives
1- Identify at least two common charting concerns and how to manage them.
2- Discuss at least two common client/patient requests for letters/documentation and how to navigate the requests.
3- Compare two different types of licensing board inquiries and the initial steps to take when receiving them.
4- Review the utility of setting up a clinical consultation network and how to maximize its effectiveness.
